We were looking to buy a property in Pinoso as we wanted to move inland and away from the coast of Mazarron. We wanted to live in a more Spanish area and were introduced to this property by Karen, Brenda and Maggie from Country Fincas. At the time, however, the house needed complete renovation and modernisation; we decided to buy it in November 2017 and we agreed with Jesus to start work in mid-February 2018 with an ambitious plan to move in on the 1st June 2018!
The property needed new floors, ceilings, walls removing and rebuilding, extensions being added, a total renovation, in fact there are now only 2 walls that are original! Blanes Construccion designed the plans and worked with us to alter and tweak them until we were happy with what was to be done. There were already two floors, but the staircase was dangerous and needed to be replaced. We did make several changes after the work had started and to our pleasure Jesus always said, “no problem”, nothing seems to be a problem for him! The property needed new doors and windows throughout, a new kitchen and two new bathrooms. This really was quite a challenge to meet the deadline.
We gave a deposit and the work started early, the house is old and really did need some care and attention, the work was done on time and to a high standard. Jesus and the team at Blanes Construccion worked long hours and very hard to implement all of the changes needed to turn the house into a home. Whilst the building work was underway, Alberto worked with us to choose the tiles, bathroom suites, kitchen and all of the other finishing touches, we decided to increase our budget slightly to achieve a better-quality finish. Alberto even worked with us to organise, buy and install the white goods for the kitchen. We provided some of the items (light fittings and personal items) and Jesus arranged for them to be installed.
We are extremely happy with the result, the level of detail was exceptional for the price, they even built a made to measure wardrobe for the bedroom! The snagging was no problem, any minor issues that we found have been resolved fully to our satisfaction. We have a lovely custom designed and completed home finished to a very high standard.
